Novello News - December

Before the year draws to a close, we wanted to drop you all a brief email to let you know the current status of the campaign and update you on a couple of events taking place around the village in the coming weeks.

Conveyancing underway …

You will all be delighted to know that the transition of ownership of the theatre from RBMW council to the local community is progressing well. We have been in close contact with our partners at RBWM and the conveyancing process is underway with lawyers on both sides conducting the necessary due diligence. We are hopeful that the legal process will conclude in the new year and then we will be in a position to announce the local charity who has stepped in to make this happen on behalf of the community. Following that long-awaited milestone, fundraising will kick up a gear as we look to refit the building into a viable theatre and much-needed community space.

 Dates for your diary …

Christmas concert

Sunningdale Hope Trust has joined forces with Priory Voices to host this magical concert in the chapel of Ascot Priory - a beautiful venue not usually open to the public. The wonderful music and unique venue are sure to get you in the festive spirit. Tickets are only £15, available here.

This year alone, Sunningdale Hope Trust has worked with St Michael’s Primary school PTA to raise over £4000 to support local families in need this Christmas.

New Year Panto

Local theatre group, the Quince Players, are back with their annual panto, taking to the stage in Sunninghill’s Cordes Hall from 9 January 2025.

If you haven’t had the opportunity to see the team in action before, you are in for a treat! Rehearsals for Goldilocks and the Three Bears are well underway and the singing, acting and dancing are all superb. Buy your tickets from the Quince Players website here.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Thank you to each and every one of you who has been part of this journey over the last 12 months, sending messages of support and advice, turning up to campaign meetings and events, following the appeal progress on social media and pledging personal and financial support … we are almost there!

We look forward to continuing the appeal and making even more progress in 2025. In the meantime, we wish you all a peaceful and joyful festive break.
