Fundraising
Sunninghill High Street is transforming!
Now owned by the Sunninghill Trust, the Novello is becoming the Picturehouse Theatre - joining forces with the Cordes Hall to create a new Sunninghill Arts & Community Hub.
An innovative deal with the Sunninghill Trust will see the trust bringing the building back into working order, before making it available to the local community through an affordable lease to the Cordes Hall Trustees which will oversee both buildings through a management committee.
As a campaign group, we are now actively fundraising for the revival and regeneration of the Picturehouse Theatre and the necessary upgrades to the Cordes Hall, in order to run the two venues as one hub.
Community and social impact are front and centre of this exciting new venture. According to the existing schedule at the Cordes Hall, amateur dramatics and a variety of community events - such as the pop-up cinema, comedy night and artisan fair - make up the majority of bookings. Looking ahead, having more hiring spaces available across both venues, will expand the type and quantity of activities available, better representing the community’s diverse interests.
We are deeply appreciative to those individuals and institutions who have already expressed an interest in or actively pledged money to financially support the campaign. The generosity and interest to date has been incredible. However, as with all campaigns of this nature, it will take a concerted and sustained community effort to raise the necessary funds to bring this dream to life.
We have a flexible and transparent approach to fundraising, designed to offer a wide range of approaches, from small individual pledges all the way through to larger, cornerstone donations and grants from local bodies and charities.
Every single penny helps towards the bigger goal of ensuring the newly formed Arts & Community Hub breathes new life into two iconic Sunninghill venues and we are equally grateful for every donation we receive.
Cornerstone donors will be permanently recognised on Honours Boards in the foyer of the restored theatre.

“Such valuable work is being done by those involved with the campaign, and I enthusiastically endorse the tireless efforts of all concerned. The great work already being done at the Cordes Hall can be beautifully complimented by the right vision for the lost gem next door.”
“The Picture House was more than a cinema, it was a real social hub… It would be wonderful for the old cinema to be used as a resource for the local community and future generations, as was the original intention.”
